Now that you have finalized your arrangements & are getting ready to go, here are some things to consider when preparing for your trip:

Insurance

• Ensure that you have comprehensive insurance coverage before you depart for your vacation: medical &  cancellation & trip interruption and baggage.

Visas & Vaccinations

• Ensure that you have applied for and obtained all necessary Visas
• Ensure that you have received all necessary vaccinations & documentation for the country/countries that you are going to visit. Please ask your CruisePlus agent if you are unsure, or refer to our website www.cruiseplus.ca for   links to government sources.

On Board Cruise Consultants

• You will get information while onboard from an onboard consultant. We both hope you have such a great experience that you will be inspired to book again. Booking onboard has benefits, perhaps including a reduced deposit. However, the currency in which you book is important.
• Please remember to have your booking listed with CruisePlus. When we are informed of your booking, we will apply CruisePlus Rewards, if applicable.  This could be in the form of an exclusive bonus or onboard credit – and you get us!

Monetary Issues

• Determine currency exchange rates by following this link: http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic
• Ensure you have your credit card information with you while traveling. Record all of your credit card contact #’s & keep them separate: this will allow you to cancel them if necessary.
• Ensure you have advised your credit card company you will be away to prevent your card from being frozen due to irregular activity. Also inquire about temporarily increasing your spending limit in case an emergency were to arise.
• We highly recommend that you make yourself aware of the current value of the Canadian dollar before you book on board, if you choose to do so.                                                                 

Online Check-in

• Ensure that you have completed your online check in / immigration on your cruise lines website.
• Your CruisePlus agent and or the cruise line with provide you with a link when the documents are ready to be completed.
• Ensure that you have made your shore excursion reservations directly with your cruise line.

Documents

• Ensure that the names and birthdates on your travel documents match your legal documentation.
• Leave a copy of your itinerary - including all contact information & copies of your passport & credit card info with your emergency contact person. You may also want to take an extra copy with you – if you do – keep them separate from the originals
• Ensure that your passport is valid at least six months after your return from your trip.

Other

• Ensure that your carry-on bag contains everything you need for your flight and cruise, including any medications and documentation.  Be aware of security restrictions. You can check this website http://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca for updates.

If you have booked air through CruisePlus

• Air schedules should be reconfirmed 24 hours prior to departure.
• Please check the website of your air supplier for information about any baggage fees, baggage restrictions and requirements, which can change without notice!
• Most major airlines offer web check in 24 hrs prior to departure on selected flights. Please see airlines website directly for details or contact CruisePlus for assistance.
