Dave's Cruises is all about advising clients personally on their travel and cruise options throughout the world. My mission statement is really about this back to basics philosophy - which is providing the best possible “hands on” service I can and offering excellent consumer value and advice. Dave’s Cruises is owned by our big sister agency, CruisePlus Management Ltd., which is one of the largest and most successful independent travel agencies in Canada.
I can give you first hand advice on some very exotic destinations. I have been lucky enough to have been to all 7 continents, cruised aboard an exploration vessel to Antarctica, have been to Madagascar, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Tahiti, on diving expeditions in Australia's Great Barrier Reef, rode elephants in Thailand, seen polar bears in Churchill, enjoyed safaris multiple times in East Africa including a gorilla trek in Uganda, been to many of the world’s capitals and much more.
My cruising life has included trips to Alaska, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, a Transatlantic crossing, Mexico, Europe, South America, the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. My parents traveled to over 100 countries…I'm not there yet, but hopefully I'll match or beat their number. I have been on over 50 cruises, and like to think that I know the world and the travel business very well. I started booking travel in the early 1980's and have chartered and sold out 13 full cruise ships with Holland America Line. Travel is my life and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.
I am a big promoter of voyage cruises. If you have the time to take a long trip, I will offer you exceptional value and hopefully you will agree that my service and knowledge will make your whole booking experience first rate. If you have ever considered a World cruise, now’s the time!
My passion and “happy place” is East Africa, and I have taken several groups on safari to Kenya and Tanzania. Please keep your eyes on my site for the current trip – it's a fabulous soft adventure and something you should do at least once in your life. We had a fabulous 7th trip in October 2010 – and am planning number 8 in September 2012.
Please remember, when you book with me you are receiving the benefit of all my travel knowledge. I always offer extra value, and want your business, but I am not interested in competing with tiny or no commission pricing that may be offered by online or with “little or no personal touch” agencies. I'll give you an incentive to book with me, whether it be an “off the top” discount (if allowed by the supplier), onboard amenities or shipboard credits, and more often than not my first price to you will be better than most agencies, but I am unlikely to match any low ball offers. If all you are looking for is the lowest price I may very well not be the agent for you. To be frank, I cannot work for you effectively without compensation.

My knowledge will make a difference for you – whether it’s the actual cruise quote or how I can help you make the most of your whole trip – from picking the right pre or post hotels and air, to finding the right thing to do in each port, let alone my suggestions on how to avoid line ups on board the ship! I’ll deliver a quality vacation at a more than fair value – and in most cases, significantly better than my competition.
