All About Royal Caribbean
This is the era of the Mega Cruise Ship and if you are looking for a big ship then look to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. From its first ship The Song of Norway in 1970 to its newest creation the Allure of the Seas, ready to set sail in December of 2010, the transformation is phenomenal.
Adventure and activities abound on this Cruise Line and it is a haven for cruising sports enthusiasts. With rock climbing walls, sports courts, roller-blading tracks, flow riders, ice-skating rinks, carousels and miniature golf courses there are enough venues to keep you active 24 hours a day.
The Oasis of the Seas, first of the Oasis Class ships and launched in December 2009, is like a floating City carrying over 5000 passengers. With 28 ultra-modern loft suites and 2700 spacious staterooms, it is a 16 deck marvel with a total of seven distinct onboard neighbourhoods where everyone can discover an area of unique experience. Central Park is a tranquil public space that combines nature and nautical, for relaxation, shopping, fine-dining or just going for a stroll; or the Boardwalk, an area dedicated to family, fun and nostalgia where there are enough games, amusements and attractions to keep the whole family entertained. People watch in the morning while sipping your coffee on the Royal Promenade, shop in the afternoon and enjoy vibrant nightlife and entertainment in the evening. The Pool and Sports Zone on this ship covers an entire deck, plus the Youth Zone with Kids Avenue, Imagination Studio, Royal Babes & Tots nursery, Adventure Science Lab & Ocean Theatre, offers an area where kids can be kids and parents don’t have to worry about them.
Originally sailing the seas of the Caribbean, Royal Caribbean now ventures to destinations all over the world including Alaska, Mexico, Canada New England, Hawaii, Europe and Asia. A Royal Caribbean executive described the vessels as “mass with class” and he hit the nail on the head. Although on many of the ships the staterooms are small compared to those of other lines in the same price range, the ships are beautiful, with personality, marvelous entertainment and remarkable fitness and spa facilities
For a reasonable price Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines offers a cruise experience that is both classy and tons of fun. Service is friendly and efficient and the food good. The ships have something for everyone and it is almost impossible to imagine not having a great time. Although there are spots for retirees looking to while the days away in a quiet relaxed atmosphere, for the most part this Cruise Line is geared towards active, sports oriented passengers looking for an action packed vacation.
