April 25 Almeria shore excursion
Hey! So we arrived in Almeria, Spain but we didn’t see anything there. We got up at 6:30 and left at 8:30 for a two and half to three hour car trip. On the way there I saw so many wind turbines, solar panels, olive trees and orange trees.
When we finally got to Grenada we saw the caves where the gypsies live. Yes, actual gypsies! They live in these caves and I’ll explain a little more later… When we finally got to the Alhambra, we had to walk a little bit to the entrance. The Alhambra is this amazing town where 1,500 people lived back in 1419. Pretty long ago, huh? They had this summer home which was the size of a mansion and the Nasrid Palaces took up five acres! It was too amazing to explain. You just have to go there. The architecture and the fact that they were able to build such palaces with so little technology is almost impossible. You walk in and it just takes your breath away! I mean the fountains and the walls and everything! I could go on for hours… It should be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. So when we came out of the Alhambra and we were walking to the restaurant, we met the gypsies. They are these people who wear ratty looking clothes and they just stood there. Here’s their procedure:
- Offer the person rosemary.
- Read their hand.
- Well one of the other gypsies is reading their hand, steal their stuff.
- Disappear and go somewhere else and use their money or try it again.
So what I learned to do is to just walk past them and pretend you don’t see them. The lunch was at this little restaurant in a hotel nearby and the paella was yummy. I bought some postcards and I will mail them soon! Got to get some sleep soon *Yawn*. Lol.
xoxoxo,
Chloe
