May 9 tour of Istanbul
Selamat Malam! Today we arrived in Istanbul!!!! So exciting! Up until 2:00 p.m. Sydney and I went swimming at the Lido pool. It was fun and lunch was good, nothing better than sweet tea.
At around tigga (three o’clock, see I’m starting to use my Indonesian) we docked. We had a tour at empat (four) and so we had to start to get ready. On our tour we went to the spice market which was huge and ate pistachio Turkish delights...REALLY good, and the shopping is too (saffron- hint-hint-wink-wink).
We went to the underground cistern which was fabulous! Especially with the faces of medusa. Except you get scared when you think what would happen in an earthquake. Yeep! All those columns could collapse and would I guess. We went on a cruise of the Bosphorous Strait and the houses on the Asian side all had yachts and pools and maids. There was this one hotel that costs 18 grand a night to stay there! Seriously it’s a Sheraton luxury line hotel. 18 000! Now I can say I’ve been through ten different time zones, ten different countries and three continents on this trip. Happy mother’s day mom! I hope y’all had a great day. Ciao for now or sampai jumpa nanti!
xoxoxo,
Chloe!
