April 24 shore excursion in Cadiz
Hi everybody! Today we were in Cadiz, Spain. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe and it had this amazing cathedral that was almost totally made out of limestone and/or marble. Trust me, it was huge! Did you know that Queen Elizabeth the 2nd donated a bunch of money for the church?!?! We went down to the crypt and there was a bunch of dead people buried there in their tombs. Kind of depressing but still pretty cool. After we went back up we saw this thing that was made out of 2000 kilos of silver!
We got out of the church then we went to the flower market, then to a bar and we saw some flamenco dancing. Oh my gosh! They are so talented. The costumes were pretty cool: the guy was wearing all purple, one of the girls was wearing black and red and the other girl wore a white dress with red and blue flowers. It was so loud in there though.
We came out of the bar and I realized how much I would like to live in Europe. Everybody there is SO fashionable! Plus Cadiz, like any other European city had all these little narrow streets with old apartment buildings and all the girls wore the most amazing clothes! Well, we kept on walking till we got to the statue. It had Hercules on it and Isobel the queen of Spain who also helped with the cathedral. We took a bunch of pictures with the statue then we went back onto the ship. Ahh, it was nice to be home! Well we are going to be sailing through the straits of Gibraltar soon so I better go and see!
